“Snowboulder Plough” was created in mid November at the campus of the University of Montana,a week after the early winter storm ‘Brutus’ deposited some eight inches of snow.I wanted to create a countryside or rural image resembling a ploughed field within the urban conurbation by simply rolling giant snowballs around a cottonwood tree.Giant spirals highlighted the treetrunk where leaf and twig encrusted snowballs came to rest in a row,too big and ponderous to push any further. It was very tiring creating the installation but the students enjoyed watching me at work and were very respectfull in not damaging the artwork, which survived for quite a while.
