“Narrow Gauge Stacks”.

“Seaside Stacks ” is a temporary mixed media created on a beach in Whitehaven in West Cumbria in March 2016.I found an old light railway line lying on the beach, probably a discarded remnant from the nearby defunct colliery. I propped up the line with two pieces of driftwood and proceeded to collect flat pebbles and stack up the  fragile columns. A passing rain shower brought temporary light gusts of wind which conspired to blow down a few columns. Thankfully the shower soon passed and I finished the artwork some two  hours later.I had to be quick photographing the piece as the tide was coming in,threatening to engulf the beach.
