“Groyne Spiral”.

The temporary Beach installation was created in between tides at Bridlington, East Yorkshire in September 2019.I was pparticipating in a Land art festival where many Environmental artists were invited to create art in a variety of locations. I was surprised to see how quickly the tide went out and came back in and I had many interested onlookers throughout the day. I particularly liked the white chalky pebbles and enjoyed meeting the other artists over the weekend.

“Recycled Cornet “.

The temporary artwork was created on the tideline of South Beach, Whitehaven,West Cumbria in mid September 2019.Prevailing tides deposit plenty of plastic from far flung places such as this traffic cone from County Wexford in Ireland. I inverted the cone and adhered plastic lid bottletops onto a large orange ball to resemble a giant ice cream cone. The plastic Cornet is a symbolic seaside image, and also represents the threat of pollution to fragile maritime ecosystems. After photography ,I disassembled the artwork and like other similar interventions ,reuse the plastic components in my educational art workshops.
